An engineering(electrical) graduate from one of the oldest and best known engineering college in Bangalore - BMS college of engineering - Prasad has done his post-graduate diploma in Business Management from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Soon after his education, he joined Power Engineering as an ordinary employee and worked his way up.
The academic skills learnt in the university and the work experience on the shop floor have made Prasad Girimaji what he is today-a good employer and a consultant that one can rely upon. And he has continued the tradition set by his father: of providing quality services.
Started by Late Mr. Hanumantha Rao Girimaji in the year 1957 and now being run by his son Mr. Prasad Girimaji, the foot print of this company can be seen in the excellent electrical installation works in several buildings that house some of the key institutions in Bangalore city.
The Power Engineer's electrical jobs are mostly on turnkey basis. And this encompasses complete consultancy, preperation of detailed drawing, bill of quantities and arranging for electrification. The company also takes up pure consultancy jobs.
The company has clients in very many sectors including manufacturing, hospitality, software, scientific laboratories, research institutions and institutions for higher learning, besides sectors like garment manufacturing and silk rearing.
Bangalore has been the hub of the knowledge society in India for well over half a century. The city not only plays host to world class scientific institutions like the Indian Institute of Science, the Raman Research Institute, the Indian Institute of Astrophysics and the Indian Space research Organisation, it is also the city that was choosen for the establishment of some of the biggest and most successful public sector industries in India like the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Hindustan machine Tools, Indian Telephone Industries, Bharat Electronics Limited, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, etc...
Such large scale industrial activity was bound to promote private enterprises in the area of civil and electrical engineering. And Mr. Hanumantha Rao Girimaji was quick to catch in on this oppertunity. As the company grew, so also its reputation for quality work and Power engineering soon earned enormous goodwill in the industrial sector. So weather it was HMT or NAL, BEL or IISc, Power Engineering bagged the contract for electrical work.
Today, after nearly half a century, Power Engineering can proudly say that perhaps no other firm in the private electrical services sector has gained over the years, the kind of varied experience that Power Engineering has. And it puts to good use this experience and knowledge in constant improvisations in its work.
